About doggykin

The doggykin story

5 years ago Jambo our Lhasa Apso, joined the Little family. He always seemed awkward and uncomfortable when travelling in the car. He never complained but just simply looked like he was not having a good time! Now there are some dogs that love to hang out the car window and others that just feel a little insecure (like Jambo!) however I noticed that when someone sat in the back seat, he’d pop his head on their leg and would then be so much more settled.

And that is how the doggykin story began…

I wanted to create a premium, hand-made, high quality product made using only sustainable, eco-friendly, organic materials from the thread to the labels, from the fabric to the packaging. And at the same time use bright, bold and contemporary colours.

I have a small team working with me including two wonderful design assistants, Louisa and Sydney.

And I’ve been blessed with support from family and friends to enable the doggykin dream to come to life

The doggykin team

Small business entrepreneur, married with 2 grown-up sons, and of course mum to Jambo. Passions include doggykin, yoga, camping, visiting the Peak District and North Wales. I believe we can make our dreams come true.

Design Assistant
I’m in my 3rd year of a Fashion Atelier degree course at the University of the Creative Arts. I love anything and everything relating to haute couture and design. Oh and I’m known to practice archery in my spare time.

Design Assistant
I recently graduated from the Textiles in Practice course at Manchester School of Art in 2020. Loving anything to do with textiles, I also have another passion – swimming in the sea whenever the opportunity arises.

Product Tester
I’m a 5 year old Lhasa Apso and after a long walk, like nothing more than laying on the back of the sofa watching the world go by. I LOVE my doggykin pillow in the car – it makes me feel safe, comfy and secure.
